The Battery Show 2023

By Dr. Michelle Tokarz, Ph.D., VP of Partnerships & Innovation

The Battery Show 2023 in Novi, Michigan, was a huge success. There were hundreds of exhibitors spanning all aspects of the battery ecosystem. I am excited to share some insights from this incredible event. One of the highlights of The Battery Show 2023 was the opportunity to witness cutting-edge technologies in action. From next-gen lithium-ion batteries with improved energy density to solid-state batteries that promise to revolutionize electric vehicles, the show floor was filled with prototypes and products that could reshape our energy landscape.

Networking and collaboration were undoubtedly among the most significant activities from my experience at the event. I had the pleasure of engaging in productive discussions with prominent companies throughout the battery ecosystem. I had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with many industry players and share with them Endurion’s unique approach to silicon anodes. Everyone was intrigued with our concept and wanted to learn more. I was able to go deep into the technology with the scientists in the group and they were intrigued. Many of these companies expressed a strong interest in establishing partnerships with domestic suppliers and battery innovators including our Endurion program. Their enthusiasm for working with domestic partners to strengthen the supply chain is a promising sign for the growth of the industry in the US.

This shift towards domestic suppliers aligns with the broader goals of the federal government of enhancing supply chain resilience and supporting state and local economies. As the energy storage industry continues to grow, building strong partnerships with domestic suppliers is not just a strategic move; it’s a commitment to fostering innovation, creating jobs, and ensuring the sustainability of the entire supply chain.

The Battery Show 2023 was a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation. As our Endurion program continues to gain momentum, the connections we made at the Battery Show will be instrumental in allowing us to address the challenges and opportunities in the energy storage industry, ultimately driving the industry closer to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
