Michelle Tokarz

Dr. Michelle Tokarz, VP of Partnerships and Innovation, has a long history of commercializing technical-based innovations starting with the UofM spinout – Metaglass Coatings, LLC, based on her doctoral work. Her expertise has resulted in several successful SBIR and STTR awards. Her approach includes a deep understanding of the technical capabilities combined with Customer Discovery and Business Model Canvas concepts as exemplified by the many NSF ICORP and related programs she has participated in and continues to teach. Her experience has also led to regular participation on NSF SBIR/STTR Phase I and Phase II review boards. Michelle earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science and a dual Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
